Every day we have countless opportunities to do good within our sphere of influence. The Giving Calendar seeks to open the eyes of families to the beauty of service. See the original Giving Calendar here (the original is sold out).

What is it?

Created by Amber and Amy, two ministerial spouses, this advent-style calendar counts down the days to Christmas by spending a little time each day focusing on one of twelve areas of service. Each daily devotional discusses specific real-world needs, what God says about the topic, why it is important, and what you can do to help. These topics of need include animals, children, church, community, environment, elderly, family, friends, health, needy, neighbors, and safety. An accompanying resource guide features 24 daily activities with ideas on how you can do good each day. It also includes quick activities for days when you have limited time. Along the journey, you will find that by giving to others, you will receive a much greater gift, a clearer picture of the true character of God and His love for all.

How does it work?

Your 120-page PDF download includes 24 Daily Devotional printables (print one-sided on standard paper or make 4x6 cards with double-sided printing). Because some day’s activities require more involvement than others, you can use our printable planning calendar to make a schedule that will work for your family. Prepare the printouts in your own envelopes and display them in your home to create a simple, modern advent calendar.

Every day your family will open the day’s card, and read the devotional thought. Each thought address one of twelve areas of service. After completing the days devotional, use the accompanying digital resource guide for tutorials and printables to do good in each area of service.

We understand that life can get busy, and you may not have time for a more involved activity every day, so each day also includes a Quick Activity. This activity requires no additional materials and can be done in just a few minutes while still making a big impact for good.
